BPBD: 30 Flood-Prone Areas Detected in South Jakarta

The South Jakarta Disaster Mitigation Agency (BPBD) office recorded that there are 30 flood-prone areas spread in 10 sub-districts in South Jakarta.

There are three watersheds in South Jakarta

Head of South Jakarta BPBD, Danang Susanto mentioned the flood-prone areas are located in Jagakarsa, Pejaten Timur, Kebon Baru, Rawajati, Bukit Duri, Pancoran and Pengadegan.

Kembangan Utara & Selatan Remain Categorized as Flood Prone Area

Meanwhile, on the west side, similar condition is also spotted in Perdatam, Ulujami, Bintaro and Pondok Pinang. Then for mid watershed through Krukut River, they are in Petogogan, Bangka and Mampang urban villages.

There are three watersheds in South Jakarta. On east side through Ciliwung, the west side is through Pesanggrahan River and mid watershed,” he told, Monday (12/21).

To anticipate flood, as many as 3 flood posts will be set up in Ulujami, Pejaten Timur and Kebon Baru.

“The effort is done based on assistance from National Disaster Mitigation Agency (BNPB),” he told.
